“PRINCE OF PERSIA: LAS ARENAS DEL TIEMPO” (PRINCE OF PERSIA: LAS ARENAS DEL TIEMPO),

Walt Disney y Jerry Bruckheimer, el equipo que llevó “Piratas del Caribe” a la pantalla grande nos trae ahora “PRINCE OF PERSIA: LAS ARENAS DEL TIEMPO” (PRINCE OF PERSIA: LAS ARENAS DEL TIEMPO), una aventura que tiene lugar en la mítica tierra de Persia. Un príncipe algo granuja (JAKE GYLLENHAAL) se ve forzado a unirse a una misteriosa princesa (GEMMA ARTERTON) para enfrentarse a fuerzas oscuras con el fin de salvaguardar una antigua daga capaz de liberar las Arenas del Tiempo -un regalo de los dioses que puede volver atrás el tiempo y otorga a su dueño el poder sobre el mundo-.





Dirigida por Mike Newell (“Harry Potter y el Cáliz de Fuego”) cuenta también como protagonistas con SIR BEN KINGSLEY y ALFRED MOLINA. Su estreno está previsto para el 28 de mayo de 2010.

BURBANK, Calif. (September 2008) -- Production has commenced on location in Morocco and London on Walt Disney Pictures’ and Jerry Bruckheimer Films’ fantasy “Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time,” directed by Mike Newell (“Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire”) and based on Jordan Mechner’s hugely popular video game. Jake Gyllenhaal (“Zodiac,” “Jarhead,” “Brokeback Mountain”) stars in the title role, joined by newcomer Gemma Arterton (the new James Bond adventure “Quantum of Solace”), Academy Award® winner Sir Ben Kingsley (“Gandhi”) and Alfred Molina (“Spider-Man 2”). The film is slated to open Memorial Day weekend 2010.



In the sweeping fantasy-adventure, Gyllenhaal portrays Dastan, a young prince in 6th century Persia who must join forces with Tamina (Arterton), a beautiful and feisty princess, to prevent a villainous nobleman from possessing the Sands of Time…a gift from the gods that can reverse time and allow its possessor to rule the world.



“Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time” is written by Doug Miro and Carlo Bernard, Boaz Yakin and Jordan Mechner. The executive producers are Mike Stenson, Chad Oman, Jordan Mechner, John August, Patrick McCormick and Eric Mcleod.



The cast of “Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time” also includes stage, screen and television performers Toby Kebbell (“Dead Man’s Shoes,” “RocknRolla”), Richard Coyle (“A Good Year”), Steve Toussaint (TV’s “The Bill”) and Ronald Pickup (“Never Say Never Again”).

“Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time” will film in and near Marrakesh, Ouarzazate and Erfoud, Morocco, followed by hugely scaled sets constructed in Great Britain. The film opens May 28, 2010.
